April 2008
Members' Driving Improvement of HP Support Management Contracts
As a result of feedback received in the 2007 Worldwide User Advocacy Survey, Encompass members directly communicated their HP support contract needs to HP management during a 90-minute conference call on January 8. Since then, Encompass members have met regularly with HP management to track issues, discuss ideas for resolution and prioritize customers’ greatest needs regarding the management of support agreements and improvement of online tools.
“I was a little skeptical at first because I sometimes think of collaboration projects between a vendor and its users as really being one-sided, where the vendor is not really serious about making changes despite the input from its users,” said Encompass participant Steve Illgen.
He found his skepticism unwarranted. “The team members from HP are extremely serious about making some changes to HP support agreement management process. They continue to be very receptive to the issues and ideas brought up by their users -- who Encompass represents. Using this input, a number of recommendations have emerged which, both the HP and Encompass team members agree, should make the support management process a bit easier and more efficient for everyone.”
